Bombycites is an extinct genus of butterfly from the Upper Miocene (5.28 - 1.61 million years ago) of Oeningen, Croatia. It contains only one species, Bombycites oeningensis, described from a fossil pupa by the Swiss geologist and naturalist Oswald Heer. Its family and superfamily placement is uncertain.[1][2]
